The Ministry of Finance has imposed final anti-dumping duties on flexible block polyols imported from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Flexible slab polyol is a polyether that reacts with catalysts and additives to produce polyurethane foam, which is used in upholstery, mattresses, pillows, boosters, transportation seats and packaging.
Manali Petrochemicals, located in Tamil Nadu, accounts for 98% of the domestic production of flexible block polyols and has submitted an application to seek anti-dumping duties on imports of flexible block polyols from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The tax bureau has now imposed an anti-dumping duty of US$150.06 per ton on flexible block polyols (molecular weight 3000-4000) produced by Sadara Chemical Company in Saudi Arabia.
For other producers and exporters from Saudi Arabia, the anti-dumping duty is US$235.02 per ton.
For the flexible block polyol imported from the UAE, an anti-dumping duty of US$101.81 per ton has been imposed.
These anti-dumping duties are valid for five years.
