Huntsman, a global differentiated and specialty chemicals manufacturer, announced plans to build a new polyurethane system manufacturing plant in the Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, UAE. The US-based company said in a statement that the goal of the new plant is to be completed in the second half of 2019 to strengthen Huntsman's differentiated downstream capabilities in the central region of the Middle East. Dubai Systems will complement the company's two existing facilities in the Middle East, namely Turkey (Huntsman EMA) and Saudi Arabia (HAPC-a joint venture with BCI Group of Companies), forming three strong growth pillars. Huntsman said that its investment will increase the company's system production capacity in the region and add a new dimension to its polyester polyol capabilities.
